GRAVITEQA 3rd Plenary Meeting in Athens

Partners of the GRAVITEQA consortium gathered in Athens on the 20th of  January 2026 for the project’s third plenary meeting, kindly hosted by project partner FENTECH. The meeting brought together representatives from research institutions, industry, and technology partners involved in the project.

During the meeting, consortium members reviewed the progress achieved across the project and discussed the next steps for the upcoming phases of research and development. Partners shared updates on their ongoing activities and aligned on key objectives for the months ahead.

Discussions focused on the advancement of quantum-based optimization modelsAI-based analytics for transmission and distribution (T&D) grid planning and operation, and innovative optimization algorithms to support circular decommissioning of abandoned mines and conventional power plants through large-scale energy storage.

The meeting also provided an opportunity to coordinate upcoming milestones, validation activities, and collaborative initiatives, ensuring strong alignment across the consortium.

The gathering in Athens reaffirmed the consortium’s commitment to advancing innovative solutions for the energy transition while strengthening collaboration among all partners involved in the GRAVITEQA project.
